The blog I have chosen to review is Politics the TRUTH from Susie Martinez at www.susiemartinez.blogspot.com. She uses this blog as a forum for her beliefs and her opinions about the news stories that affect us all. She follows the topics from the book and gears her blog toward the community she is a part of. Her use of her blog to focus on the needs of the community help express what many people are thinking. Susie’s blog has many positives. She does a great job of using videos, pictures and articles to talk about the topics we discuss in class. She researches the subjects and how they connect with our lives daily. Her use of videos and news articles gives her blog an appeal that attracts the attention of every day Americans. The appearance of her blog is also appealing to myself and others. Although I don’t agree with all of her ideas, she does a good job of stating what she believes in terms that all can understand. She uses her blog as an instrument of teaching and change. I particularly like her use of her blog to forward her local politics. Susie’s blog is perfect for anyone looking to learn a little bit about politics and how an average American views our government. Susie’s blog doesn’t have many negative aspects. She does a great job of using every source available to present her ideas. The only thing I might suggest would be using the blog as a form of communication for people that believe the way you do. Overall, Susie does a great job of using the blog for the purpose it was intended. She portrays her ideas and political beliefs in a way that we can all understand. She uses a great mixture of sources to show how the decisions of the government affect us all.
